Joshua High
Joshua High is the Head Orchestra Director at Woodcreek Middle School in Humble ISD. Joshua graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Double Bass Performance where he studied with Dr. Jeffrey Jacobsen. He then went on to get a Master’s Degree in Music Theory under Dr. Stephen Lias. Joshua is entering his 15th year of teaching. He started as an adjunct professor of bass and guitar at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas. Before coming to WMS, he was the Orchestra Director at York Junior High in Conroe ISD for 12 years where the orchestra tripled in size to almost 200 7th and 8th graders. There was an ever increasing number of successful participants in both region orchestra and solo and ensemble, and the orchestras received numerous UIL sweepstakes under his leadership.
When he is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife, six kids, dog, and cat. He enjoys running, playing video games, reading, and listening to and making music with friends!
Adrian Martinez
Mr. Adrian Fabio Martinez will be the Assistant Orchestra Director at Woodcreek Middle School in Humble ISD. Adrian Fabio is from Laredo, Texas. He completed his undergraduate degree in Violin Music Performance at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). Upon completion of the Bachelor’s Degree, Adrian started as an Assistant Orchestra Director at his hometown middle school, United Middle School. The Award-Winning UMS Orchestra has an immense program of over 350 students and was able to continue their success in competing for Region Orchestra, UIL Solo & Ensemble, UIL Concert & Sight-Reading and several other opportunities. Adrian continued his studies at Texas Tech to pursue his Master’s Degree in Music Education. Subsequently, Mr. Martinez will be starting his 5th year of teaching and is looking to further enrich the outstanding WMS Orchestra.
Alongside working, Adrian loves spending time with his family and his two cats, Khaleesi and Baloo. He enjoys listening to music, working out, and making music with friends.
